Year 13 Chemistry 2016-2017 (last year's Y12)

A parting gift....

Dearest Y13 students....
It has been an absolute pleasure teaching you- I will genuinely miss every one of you...even when Yaseen doesn't bring his folder, or when Majid has a "Dentist appointment"...or when Salvi needs to "release?!?!" Work hard, rest well and make me proud!
Keep in touch, my new school email address is a.clift-matthews@sevenkings.school.

I am leaving you in good hands- Mr. Ali-Ahmed and Mr. Custodero are fantastic teachers :-)

Welcome to Y13 Chemistry at JRCS!

Holiday homework: No rest for the wicked! I don't want your brains to turn to mush over the 7 week holiday! (That's half a term, count yourselves lucky I'm not setting you 7 weeks of work!)

Task 1:
Download and print off paper 1 and paper 2.
Using your papers, and your book and notes, write model answers for EVERY question showing working out at every stage!
I don't care whether you got it right or not....just do it! It will be good prep for VIMA 1 in October.

Papers are below:
Paper 1: Breadth in Chemistry
Paper 2: Depth in chemistry
Depth in chemistry MS
Breadth in chemistry MS

Task 2:
Get a new lever arch file for Y13 work. Get some file dividers and start organising your work. You completed rates of reaction which is Module 5. You completed some of the organic stuff with me  up to carbonyls which is module 6.

Organise your Y12 work completely, I want to see these folders in September looking the 'dogs knackers'! File dividers in, notes sorted into the correct section, no loose sheets lying around-checklists being used! I will do a folder check in the first week back.

Task 3:
Rates exam questions - coming soon, watch this space!
Organic chemistry exam questions- coming soon, watch this space!
